Subdomains for people still finding their footing

Built and maintained by Sushil Kumar

Money should never block shipping.

Great software deserves a place to live.

Talented fledgling developers can build the thing and still fall behind at the checkout page. Namestead lets them claim a free subdomain under domains we own—so cost never decides who gets to ship.

Domain registrations and renewals

Development, maintenance and security

Also abuse handling, community operations, and legal, accounting and administrative costs. As Namestead grows, funds may also support contributors, contractors, maintainers and other people who help build and run it.

No founder pay, today.

Namestead is currently maintained by Sushil Kumar without founder compensation. As the project grows, funds may be used to pay reasonably for work performed on it.

05 / About & support

Plainly stated.

Community-funded infrastructure for developers.

What is Namestead?

Namestead is an independently operated community project focused on making useful digital infrastructure more accessible to developers.

It provides developers with resources such as domains, subdomains and supporting infrastructure, so they can publish and build their projects without handling every infrastructure cost themselves.

Namestead is currently operated and maintained independently by Sushil Kumar.

Support Namestead

Namestead is currently funded by the community. Contributions help cover the real costs of running the project: domains, hosting, cloud infrastructure, software, APIs, development, maintenance, security and other operational expenses.

The founder does not take compensation from the project today. As Namestead grows, funds may also support contributors, contractors, employees, maintainers and other people who help build and operate it.

Your support helps keep Namestead available to developers.

Namestead is currently an independently operated project owned and maintained by Sushil Kumar. It is not currently a registered NGO, charitable trust, society, Section 8 company, or other registered nonprofit organization.

Contributions to Namestead are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations, and do not provide ownership, equity or control over Namestead.
